Moderate newspapers attach little importance to a memorandum, suggesting that Rossi intended.. „to blackmail Mussolini to secure bis release from prison. Mussolini is expected to reply in Parliament. ROME, Dec. 28. A tremendous sensation., has been caused throughout Italy as the result of the publication of a memorandum by Gesare Rossi, formerly chief of the Press Bureau, in which he paints a, picture of the unscrupulous violence of the Fascist, hierarchy. Rossi, who is a prisoner accused of being the instigator of the Matteotti murder, declares without hesitation, that nearly all the attacks on. the Opposition leaders were inspired and ordered by or executed, with the knowledge of Signor Mussolini. The memorandum throws no light on the Matteotti crime, in connection with which- Rossi disclaims any responsibility. ■ LONDON, Dec. 29.
