TRIBUTE TO NEW ZEALAND. (By -Telegraph—Special to Star.) WELLINGTON, Dec. 30. Dr. J. H. L. Cumpston, DirectorGeneral of Health of the Comirionk of Australia, is at present in H ellmgton on the return iourney- from Great Britain. Dr. Cumpston leftAusralia m July last, and has visited England, France and America for the purpose of studying health administration m those countries. The Federal Government has appointed a Royal Commission to revise the existing system of public health in order to bring it into line with the most modern developments in this field. Dr; Cumpston says he lias been struck with the extent to which the country-towns in New Zealand are equipped with modern sewerage systems. In this respect-, he says, they are in advance of the conditions in Australia, and naturally, in view of the importance of primary industries to New Zealand,! ' the supervision of milk supplies and of dairy products is very complete.
