WEDDING.
; WILTON—HOOPER. A very- pretty weeding was celebrated in St. Mary’s Church, Hawera, on Wednesday, December 17, when Miss Irene Muriel, eldest daughter ot Mr and Mrs H. it. Hooper, Te itoti, was married to Mr Roy Wilton, youngest son of Mr E. Wilton, of Tokomaru, the ■ Rev. Mr Monaghan officiating. The bride, who entered the Church on the arm of her father, looked charming in a frock, of ivory satin with panels of silver lace rind a satin train lined with shell pink georgette. She wore a beautiful veil with coronet of silver leaves and pearls, and carried a sheaf of Christmas lilies. The two little train-bearers, Joyce Lendrum and Thelma Crann, wore early Victorian frocks of amethyst and. lemon respectivell, and carried small posies to match. The bride was attended by her sister. Miss A. Hooper, in flame satin, Miss G. Lendrum; in pale green shot taffeta, Miss O. Wilton (sister of the bridegroom), in pale blue satin, and Miss G. Hooper (cousin of the bride), in shell pink, maroeain. All wore veils to match, and carried bouquets of sweet peas and maiden-hair fern, and altogether they made a charming picture. The best man was Mr J. Cocker ton, and the groomsmen M essrs It. Hooper and R. Cockerton. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Carlton Tea Rooms, where a large number of guests were assembled. The bride’s travelling dress was a : cream jersey silk jumper costume with tango hat. The happy couple left amid showers of confetti for New Plymouth, where the honeymoon was spent.
