STRATFORD RACING CLUB.
A. meeting of stewards was held on Friday last. It was resolved that the president, vice-president and members of the Judicial Committee be appointed as a committee to deal with the matter of division races subject to the number of starters exceeding the safety number, as advised, by the New Zealand Facing Conference, in any event on either day and with power" to act. Messrs H. E. Abraham, H. M. Good.. D. ■7. Malone, A. Stewart and R. F. Maifrov were appointed the Judicial -Committee. -■''■■■■■
As a further safeguard agaiust fire ih the motor- enclosures it was resolved that a man be employed exclusively for the purpose of preventing fire. An ambulance': assistant was appointed. ■ A meeting of the General Committee was held at - the ‘conclusion of the stewards ’ meeting. Mr J. D. Healv reported that, subject to fa vourable‘weather conditions, painting of all •buiidings would be completed by the- 24th ; Mr Kirkwood reported that the Borough Council have effected improvements, to Pembroke road and Cordelia street.
