The meeting of creditors was to have been held' in the Deputy Official Assignee’s office this afternoon., but owing to none putting in an appearance the. meeting. lapsed. Bankrupt’s written statement was as follows: .Up till; a month ago T was •living at Waroa and had been in the Awatuna district for several -years past off and on. • 1 was .sharemilking cn a farm at Awatuna about LS months ago. •where L was unfortunate, owing to my wife being laid up and having to employ labour. The' return from the farm -proved.' very, poof, :uid owing to this and my Wife’s iU-Lealth .I liad to incur sonic debts, I liave pow been pressed by the Kaupokonui Dairy Co., and .as I am .quite- unable to.-meet the. amount at the present time and do not wish to lose niv work, which I have just,obtained, in order to treat all my creditors alike, 1. have found it necessary to-file my petition. 1 am now earning .with niy wife .£-! per week, I but owing to her health not being too good I am not, at presentable to make any offer to luv creditors.
The only liabilities iii the estate were the claims of unsecured creditors, which totalled £1.02 17s Oil. They were as follows: AY. Bankrupt had no assets.
