In the Mr. Phillips, Mr. Richards reported that surplus, stock had not been sold. Mr. Richards reported that the committee had decided to . shut up field 14 for hay. ? The Borough Council advises that owing to shortage of water on higher levels the Works Committee cannot recommend the Society’s, application: 'for connection with the town water supply, but suggest, that application be made after the electrical change over. >, As an immediate supply..of wafer is required the committee has made arrangements for a watpr sup'ply, by, means’of tanks and pump," in fields .13 and 14. The manager’s report period 12th November to 10th. December was read 'and received, and is as _ follows :—-Stock.—Fifty-one cows are being milked] quantity of milk for the month 51,506 lbs. Tests, . first period 4.0, second. period 4.1, thi.rd period 4.3. Mangolds and carrots were sown on the 12th and 13th November, varieties in accordance .with the chairman’s\instructions. Mangolds are .being weeded. The thistles in field 12have been ’cut and the paddock cleaned up. The lucerne' was' out on December Ist and stahked on December j sth. The ploughing of the hush paddock is about completed, and about six acres .of ground will be ' re'ady for; swedes about the 20th December. ' The bush -pa-ddock has" been, fenced around the Patna river by casual labour. The trees along the road' have been felled. Members • visiting the . farm to-day' will instruct the manager in connection with the water.. supply. It was " also resolved that the manager be advised that the committee have decided to sow field seven (7) with one-third soft turnips and two-thirds swedes. <Mr. Richards reported he had ordered a quan-'' tity of slag at a very satisfactory figure and was willing to allow the committee portion of his order 'at cost price. It was i’esoJved, that the committee accept offer, : and . ten tons of slag he acouirsd ex order Mr. Richards, delivery March-May. ' The FTsrd Testing Association for the period ending 28th November. advise that Society herd average' 51 cows, 1014 lbs. milk, 42.78 lbs butterfat, the Assocmtion average being 881 lbs milk, 30.94 lbs. butterfat.
