A large / number :of foreign officials are accepting the option to retire in April. This is the outcome of the uncongenial position in which they were placed under the late Zaghlulist. regime. The new Government is doing its best, to remedy the situation, but the mischief is already done. .The retirements particularly affect tne technical services and the police force. The departure of British officers; is regarded with serious apprehension by foreign communities, who do not .consider the 'Egyptian officers of the .police force sufficient to assure protection..
