IN BANKRUPTCY.

HAWERA PLUMBER’S ESTATE. NO SECURED CREDITORS. The meeting of creditors in the bankrupt estate* of Percy M. Glenie, plumber, of Hawera, which was to have been held this ' afternoon, lapsed' for want of a quorum. Bankrupt had debts to unsecured creditors amounting to £145 10s 8d and furniture valued at £25, hut as the law allows a bankrupt possession of furniture up to the value of £25, this asset could not he attached. The unsecured creditors were: C. Cold well,'lnglewood, £l6 16 s; N, V. Thomas, Auckland, £6 ss; Inglewood Borough Council, £8 os; W. F. Short, New Plymouth,’£l7 14s 83; R. Hardley, Hawera, £2O; J. M. Townsend, Hawera, £4; Dimock, Hawera, £2 10s; A. 11. Codd, Inglewood, £7O. Bankrupt, in’ his written statement, said that about two years ago he was a partner in a plumbing business in Inglewood. Difficulties arose lietween his -'partner and himself, and he was forced out of the business without even wages due to him being paid. He was then out of work for about three months, but. at the end of that time he came to Hawera to work for Air Kneehone. After a short time, however, he was again unemployed. Practically the whole of : his debts had been incurred through the partnership business, and owing to his being out of work so much it had been impossible for him to pick up. Owing to pressure by larger creditors he had been forced" to file. He was a married man with, two children, and was pot at present able to make any offer to his creditors.
