Douglas MaAvsoiT, women states that the Commissioner of Police questioned maiiy aborigines, including the Banaka who previously made statements about the fate of the women. Banaka and other blacks all denied the story that the women were being held in captivity. The police ascertained that the aborigine Bokara, to; whom the older Avoman Avas alleged to have been assigned as wife, had been; dead eighteen months. -
