OHAWE BEACH.
The Ohawe Seaside Improvement Committee held their annual meeting oii Tuesday evening. There was a fair attendance.of members and others. Apologies were received from several gentlemen who could not attend. ■ > The annual report and statement of income and expenditure showed income from various efforts and donations £lO6 15s lid. £SO of this lias been handed to the County Council and has been expended with a liberal subsidy in road improvements. The' balance has been spent in various improvements, such as , extensions to bathing sheds, shower baths, seats, fencing and netting, improvements to life-saving apparatus, - and various expenses, leaving a small, balance to carry forward. The committee wishes to record its thanks to the County Council for its courtesy and assistance with road improvements, and to all who have assisted in its various efforts and by donations of cash. . Ohawe is growing in popularity, and the committee looks forward to seeing a very large number of visitors this season. The new road is a great improvement, and the committee hopes * before very long to see it metalled all the way.
