DOG’S FIDELITY.

GIVES LIFE FOR OWNERS. y BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. WELLINGTON, Dec. 20. A- remarkable instance of canine sagacity and fidelity occurred at 16 Donald McLean Street, Newtown, yesterday morning. Mr. and Mrs. King were awakened by the barking of their small dog. They found the house on fire and narrowly escaped being caught in the flames. The fire apparently started in a lean-to at the back of the house and building and contents were destroyed. Unfortunately the dog was so badly burned that it had to be destroyed.
