No work was done to-day at the Taupiri, Pukemiro. Waipa and Glenalvon coal mines for the reason that no trucks were available to remove coal in some of the mines. It is a senom matter for the men to lose time iust before the Christmas and New Year as they __ have not had tor good a time of late. At the present time the shortage of trucks is particularly unfortunate, as the Gas Company and Power Board are wanting slack As a matter of fact, deliveries of that grade are about 1000 tons behind. Sup. plies are also wanted for various industries.
