SALE OF WORK.
HAWERA CHURCH OF CHRIST. OPENED TO-DAY. A most successful Christmas tree and sale of work, inaugurated by , the Christian Women’s Auxiliary of the Church, of Christ, Hawera, was opened in GiHanders’ new buildings, Union street, this morning, aiid promises to be a great success. The ladies have worked most strenuously for many weeks past, and the aggregate result has been that a remarkably fine display has been made. The stalls are most tastefully decorated, and are laden with a great many most useful and artistic articles. The whole appearance of the rooms indicated that much time and skill has been spent in their preparation, and reflect the greatest credit on the little band of workers. The list of stall-holders is as follows: Drapery—Mesdames M. Roberts, W. Page, J. Exley. „ Cake stall—Mesdames F. Willcoeks, Parkinson and Miss E Rae Produce—Ml’S A. Fraser. Christmas tree—Mrs F. W. Greenwood and Miss Westerly Sweet stall—Masters Willcoeks. Ihe sale of work will be continued on Saturday, and the workers are sanguine of disposing of all the produce and articles exhibited, which are marked at most reasonable orices The proceeds will be devoted* to most worthy objects.
