ENTERTAINMENTS.

GRAND THEATRE TO-NIGHT. . “KENTUCKY DAYS.” Dustin Earnum always can be depended upon to portray a two-fisted, red : blooded* man in his screen productions, but in “Kentucky Days,” which is showing at the Grand Theatre tonight and to-morrow (Thursday), William Fox has given this star a character that fits his personality more accurately and with greater effect than almost any other he has been in. It combines colourful romance, Southern chivalry, and the indomitable spirit that prevailed in ’49, when men of courage blazed the trail for love and fortune to the mysterious West and wagered everything on the outcome. The supporting programme includes the twenty-third round of the “Leather Pushers,” featuring Billy Sullivan; an excellent comedy entitled “A Tropical Romeo,” featuring A 1 St. John, and the latest Fox Neivs. Impress pictures, normanby. TO-NIGHT. “SAFETY LAST.” “Harold Lloyd is undoubtedly the most consistent performer in the movies —a tireless young man in horn-rimmed glasses whose energy and ingenuity are, on tap ■■ twelve months in the year.” That’s what Bob Sherwood, motion critic of Life, had to say about the comedian, who will be at the Empress Pictures. Normanby, to-night in. his seven-reel Patlie * comedy, “Safety Last.” Never was there anything funnier screened or more thrilling than Harold Lloyd’s climb up the side of a twelve-storey building. There’s a laugh for every brick. A thrill-a-minute, laugh a second comedy! And a real storv with a delightful love interest f armshed'bv Harold Lloyd and Mildred Davis. The scenes in the department store wher.3 Lloyd is frightened' to death for four tbs .floor-walker will find him with his fiancee are also screamingly funny. There will also be shown toil the ‘‘Fast Express.” Patrons are advised to be early.
