IF PLAYED PUBLICLY. HEADMASTER’S OPINION. (by TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 17. Speaking at the break-up : ceremony yesterday, Rev. E. C. Crosse, headmaster of Christ’s College, said that it was necessary, to protect youthful footballers from unhealthy excitement, and therefore he was still strongly opnoeed to playing the annual Boys’ "fiigh School v. College Rugby match on a place like Lancaster Park. Further, he held that present concentration of public interest in this match encouraged a division of the town into two camps. . The .match should be regarded as a private, not as a public, event.
