' : • : . BETTERMENT FUND OF £9Q,000. PERSONNEL OF~CONTROL BOARD. An Order-in-Council notifies the personnel of members of a board set up |to be known as the Maori Purposes Fund Control Board, under section 3 of the Native “Washing-up” Act, which allocates £90,000 from accumulated native moneys for the education of Maoris, ethnological research; and other purposes for. the welfare of the natives. Tlie board is to comprise the following : —The Minister of Native Affairs (Hon. J. G. Coates), who shall be chairthe Under-Secretary of Native Affairs (Chief Judge R. N. Jones), who shall be deputy-chairman ; the Director of Education, (Mr. John Caughley); the members of the House of Representatives representing the Maori race (Messrs. Hon. Sir- Maui Pomare, Hon. ■A. T. Ngata, H. W. Uru, and Tau Henare); Mr. K. S. Williams, M.P. (Bay of Plenty) ; Mr. P. H. Buck (Te Rangi Hiroa), Auckland-; Rev. F A. Bennett (Hastings).
