THE RED FLAG

FLUTTERING IN PARIS. PROVOCATIVE DISPLAY. AROUSES GENERAL CRITICISM. BY CABLE —PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT (Received Dec. 17, 10.30 a.m.) m LONDON, Dec. 16. The Times’ Paris- correspondent says the ceremony which attended the hoisting of the red flag over the Soviet Embassy in Paris aroused general criticism. It was done with a provocative display of Bolshevism. Members of the Embassy staff and the Communist choir assembled in the courtyard, where after a short address by Krassin they sang the Internationale and broke into shout# of triumph as th e Soviet flag fluttered out over the roof. Opposition newspapers describe the whole proceeding as positive confirmation of their fears that the Soviet Embassy m Paris is to be converted into a centre of Bolshevist propaganda in France.—Times. ,
