(To.the-Editor), ; -... it * r ’~L^ n - mari .V of, the,..newspapers throughout, the Dominion notices -have appeared , drawing, . attention to- the amendment ef the- Legislative- Act of 1908, -which came.into force-on* November 6 last, but none of them have,-so n ,; i 1 ?' clear , that everybody eligible to vote, whether- they, are-on an existing roll- or not, must register before four months have .elanted since the passing of the Act. . Clause (2) is quite clear on this point,and reads as follows i- — 4 'Save as-other-wise provided in this Act, every person qualified to be registered as ail elector for any district (whether or not he-is legistered as an elector at . the commencement of this - Act, or after, he first becomes qualified to be. registered as an elector, make application in the prescribed form to the registrar of the district for registration as an elector or ; that district.” - _ Opon enquiring at the office of: the Chief Electoral Officer, in. ..Wellington, tins : matter .is confirmed, and further, any elector upon an existing roil can witness the signature of anyone applying for registration in his particular elec” tora.te. —I am. etc..
