POLITICAL FOG
ENVELOPS GERMANY. . ONLY ONE THING CERTAIN. NO MORE KAISERS. * Germany is at present in a political fog, as no fewer than eleven parties are represented in the Reichstag. The outstanding feature of the recent elections/ however, is that? there is an overwhelming majority against a return of the Kaiser or any other of the Hohenzollerns to the throne. Marx had informec the leaders of the old coalition of th< People s Party, Centre Party, and tht Democrats that lie interprets the resuli of the elections as confirming the- ppl icy hitherto pursued, and that, conse quently, lie has no intention of partici pating in a bourgeois bloc that includec the Nationalists. The People’s Party favour the inclusion of the Nationalis.t.s > .but the Democrats - are opposed tc this attitude. . The/Centre Party is uncertain.
