The pupils of St. Mary’s Day School are to be entirely responsible for the programme to be given on Wednesday next at the break-np of the school. A light musical play, entitled “Winsome in Tovland ” holds the principal-place in the programme. The title role of “Winsome” has been given to Miss Alary Bright, and the music will be supplied by a small orchestra consisting of Mr and Mrs French, Airs Dullil] and Miss iving. A Dominion conference of the Presbyterian Church was held in Palmerston A orth a few weeks ago. One of the delegates who returned to his own pulpit tells the following 6tory of his ex'perienee in the Souare gardens (says the Manawatu Daily Times). He was enjoying the cool evening shade, when a little one, about five vears old, sat beside him and engaged An a friendlv chat.
