DISCOVERY REPORTED IN MEXICO. TAMPICO, (Mexico), Nov. 24 A malaria cure is believed to. have been, discovered by Div George Hooper. A drug called mereurochrone, or red an aline dye, lias been employed successruUy in numerous cases. \Vhen it waa first administered in chronic cases in September a marked improvement wa* noticed in 48 hours. An instance was recorded where 40 injections of quinine were administered with httle noticeable effect,' while the disease disappeared after a single day’s treatment by mereurochrone. Dr. Hooper and other physicians refuse to deny or confirm the discoverv, sa jhig that it is a matter for the medical academies to announce first, but it is. definitely known that it lias been used successfully for several months.
