The Senate to-day passed the new Navy Bill providing tor an expenditure of 111,000,000 dollars for eight new cruisers and the recondition of six battleships. The Bill provides for the conversion of six capital ships into oil burners and the construction ol several gunboats, in addition to the cruisers, with other' improvements, including the provision of new boilers in many instances, where- the old were found to be other modernising which Mr. Wilbur declares are necessary to bring the United States to the agreed five-five-three ratio with Britain and Japan.
