ARREST ON LINER.

ALLEGED THEFT OF £7OO. Before the liner Regina left Liverpool fc.r Quebec and Montreal recently, detectives boarded her and arrested Edward Beniamin, aged 21, on a charge of stealing £7OO, belonging to a relative in London. Benjamin is alleged to have absconded with the money after changing it into Treasury and Rank of England notes. He had been sent to the bank to get the change by the lady relative. On the Regina he was travelling thirdclass a.s “Philip Rex.” He was wearing new clothing, and his baggage also was quite new. Most of the money was recovered.
