MELBOURNE CRIME WAVE.
MANY MORE ROBBERIES. The crime wave continues in Melbourne, thieves being, particularly acactive. Last-week many houses were entered, and personal property, clothing, and other articles were stolen. One of the biggest hauls was secured in the house of Mr. Louis Nelkin, merchant, \arra, from where £2OO worth of jewellery was removed. . Ignatius’ Roman Catholic Church at Richmond, was broken into several times. On each occasion money has neon, stolen from numerous offertory boxes fixed in the building. To make their latest entrance the thieves smashed a valuable window. The offerfcorv boxes were forced open, and it is stated that the amount stolen altogether was considerable. > The money consisted mainly of contributions for the poor lhe school next door to the church has also been broken into., and money collected by the school children to assist tne ; poor has been stolen,
