GAG ON THE PRESS. by gable—press - Association—copyright ; ROME, Dec. 7. ' The text of the new press law has aroused a storm of protests. The penalties include six months to three years’ imprisonment for anyone publishing false news which may" damage the national credit at home or abroad, disturb public order, or prejudice-diplo-matic action. Other offences, for whichpenalties are provided, are inciting people to actions calculated to intensify class hatred, inciting .to disobedience of the law relating to libelling the King, the Pope or any institutions of the country or the national flag.
