He said Lord Burnham and other British delegates to the Empire Press Union meeting in Australia next year would spend a month in New Zealand before coming to Sydney. They would arrive in the Dominion in September next. SWIMMING RECORD. STOCKHOLM, Dec. 7. Arne Borg claims a world’s record for swimming 500 metres free style in 6.29 3-5. J COMPENSATION CLAIM. LONDON, Dec. 7. The Secretary of the National Seamen’s Union at Swansea is trying to obtain £6OO as compensation for the widow and two children, residing at Swansea, of John Jacob, a coloured seaman, who was the victim of a stabbing affray at Newcastle, New South Wales.
