SPAHLINGER’S TREATMENT. (by TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. AUCKLAND, Dec. 8. Dr. Blackmore, superintendent of the Cashmere Hills sanatorium, returned by the Niagara to-day. Dr. ..Blackmore studied Dr. Spahlinger’s methods for treating consumption. l£ l am doubtful whether Dr. Spahlmger has found anything better than we have already got,” he said in an interview. “I found lie was making senim from horses’ blood, somewhat similar to a good many serums previously made. Dr. Spahlinger is a man who refuses really independent tests of his treatment, and although he has been urged to take in one or two bacteriologists, particularly from New Zealand, he will not agree to this being done. Consequently every country is holding back.” FOUND DROWNED. AUCKLAND. Dec. 8. The inquest on the body of Joseph Alexander Duncan, who 'was found drowned at Devonport on November 2, has concluded. Throughout the inquest, which was twice adjourned, there seemed to be a suspicion of foul play, as deceased was in possession of . a considerable sum of money previous to his deathThis idea was not supported by the evidence, and, there being no marks of violence on the body, the coroner returned a verdict of found drowned. MINERS’ AGREEMENT. GREYMOUTH, Dec. 8. The Blackball miners accepted the new-agreement by a large .majority, but the Paparoa miners rejected it bv a small vote.
