FIRE IN SHED.

BENZINE IGNITES. An outbreak of fire in a shed in premises on the corner of Camberwell road and Egmont street last evening necessitated the attention of the Hawera Fire Brigade, the fire being suppressed after damage to the extent of £lO had been done. It appears that Mr F. W. Shackleton, who rents the premises from Mrs Parrington, of Camberwell road, was making soap and melting wax over ; a Primus stove, when an opened tin of benzine, standing in the doorway,

ignited. Mr Shackleton commenced throwing water on to the flames, but m the excitement upset the Primus stove, the contents of which farther added to the blaze. The outbreak commenced at 7.15 p.m., but the Fire Brigade, which was summoned at 7.25 pun., was quickly'on the scene and extinguished the flames. The building was only scorched, and the contents were insured to the extent of £25.
