SHOULD WE EORGET? GERMANY AND BRITAIN. THE TRADE AGREEMENT. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. LONDON, Dec. 5. Commenting in a leading article on tlie Anglo-German trade agreement, which it describes as a landmark, the Times says; “While it is important in itself on account of tlie new principles it establishes for regulating commercial intercourse between tlie two countries, it is still more important as a signpost indicating a departure from the state of war by which Anglo-German relations have been dominated during the last ten eventful years. Nothing could have expressed more clearly than this commercial treaty the fact that as far as the two chief belligerents are concerned war is over, and that the rule of intercourse is to be, not still vivid memories of war, but such opportunities for peaceful arrangement in the common interest as tlie Peace Treaty allows.”
