HUNT AND RACING CLUBS.
PROPOSED AMALGAMATION. O P INIO N AT W A VER GE Y. The proposal to amalgamate the hunt clubs wi'th the racing clubs in the various districts, which will come before the Racing Conference shortly, was opposed by a large majority at a meeting of representatives of The Eg-mont-Wanagnui Hunt Club and the Waverley Racing Club, held at Waver ley on Friday. The meeting rejected the proposal to amalgamate the two clubs, and it was decided to telegraph to all other clubs asking them to follow the same course, and to forward an amendment to the conference against the amalgamation scheme. It was stated that it, was possible that delegates from the two clubs represented at the meeting will be appointed to attend the conference and oppose the scheme. The amendment must be, before the Racing Conference before the end of this month.
