Douglas led the Englishmen for the first tune this tour. Hendry won the toss and went uO bat on a fast wicket, with a perfect uitfield. Four thousand spectators were present during the afternoon. As in the Queensland match, the pace >t the bowlers was not over troublesome, and the bowling was played conldently.
