POWDER AND PAINT.
“NATURE’S FACE CREAM.” VERY MUCH BETTER’ SAYS WELL-KNOWN VICAR. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. (Received Dec. 5, 10.10 a.m.) LONDON, Dec. 4. “Bless their dear hearts, I am no woman hater,” writes the Rev. Wellesley Orr, vicar of Kingston Hill, in the Daily Mail, replying to accusations arising out of the condemnation of women using paint and powder. “It is because we don’t hate them, but dislike seeing them spoiling the good gift of natural beauty by artificial aids. There is nothing on earth more pleasing than a beautiful woman, and nothing more hideous than a woman disfigured by paint and powder inartistically applied. Some women are constantly changing their appearance, and husbands live in dread of arrest foi* bigamy. Many women and also men would he far better looking if they used nature’s face cream, namely, water.—Sun Cable.
