The congregation of St. Andrew’s Church, Carterton, last night unanimously decided to extend a. call to the ” ev - H. Howes, R.A., of Rangiora.—Press Assn. Mr. Alexander Livingston, whose death occurred at Wanganui yesterday, was well known in the public life of Rangitikei. He was 60 years of age, and had been farming at HunterviJle since 1911. Mi-. Livingston was a' member of th& Rangitikei County Council. He leaves a family of seven daughters and three sons. Deceased "m? , a Lodge Rangitira and will be accorded a Masonic funeral. r - J- H. Hall, cable sub-editor of the Christchurch Press, has been appointed editor of the Haweva Star. Mr. Hall, who holds the Diploma in Journalism from the University of New Zealand, is a past class prizeman and Double Blue (Rugby and. athletics) of the University of Otago. He was forrnerly chief reporter on the Southland limes (Invercargill), and then for three years the representative of the Christchurch Sun in the Parliamentary Press Gallery, Mr. Hall will take up his new position early in January
