SHEEPFARMERS’ EXPERIENCE. EXCITING HUNT, (by telegraph—press Association. OPOTIKI, Dec. 4. Gerald Joblin, owner of a sheepfarma few miles from the town, killed a boar which wounded him severely on September 10: The bear’s camping ground was recently located, and Joblin and an assistant armed with rifles and carrying lanterns, left the homestead at two o’clock this morning and by daybreak arrived at their destination. They sur-; prised the boar, which stood by. Several bullets were pumped info the hoar which, however, attacked the hunters. A stern struggle ensued, and moire wounds were ipflicted. Finally the boer' succumbed. Joblin then measured the boar apd found it was six feet long from' the' tip of the nose to the tip of the tail. It was one-of the largest ever killed in the Opotiki district, and the hunt was one of the mast exciting ever experienced.
