BANKRUPT EXAMINED

(BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATIONWELLINGTON, Dec. 3. George Vance Shannon, who appeared before Sir Robert Stout lor public examination in bankruptcy, following an award ol £ISOO damages against- him as co-respondent in a divorce action, stated in evidence that he had since married respondent, the- former wife of Mattie Sareich. and lived on a leased farm at Wanganui. He- described how prior to the divorce proceedings he ran through a- large amount of inherited money by drinking and other extravagance, and was now in debt apart from the damages. The judge said that bankrupt had shown ' that he had no money since the divorce, and there was no evidence to show that be had done away with any property. An order was made that Shannon had passed his public examination.
