(From Our Own Correspondent). The fifth annual flower show and grand bazaar in connection with St. George’s Church was held in the Town Halt on Thursday and Friday last, and was very largely attended. The art, produce and other stalls were; kept busy right up to closing time, and the numerous competitions found no lack of support. On Thursday evening Miss Freda Baagey and some of her pupils entertained the large attendance, with some capital items, all of which were greatly enjoyed, and Mrs Mitchell’s orchestra entertained the gathering with some excellent music. The various stalls were most tastefully arranged. Too much praise cannot be given to the hon. secretary (Mrs T. E. Roberts) and her assistants for the splendid manner in which all arrangements were made and carried cut, and I wish to record that a. special vote of thanks is due to J the hon. secretary for the very great assistance rendered to the correspondent of the Hawera Star in connection with the results of various' sections and competitions.
