MISS BERG’S DEMONSTRATIONS.

The/ attendance at the demonstrations of cooking by gas made by Miss Berg at the Winter ShoAv Building last evening was very satisfactory, and great interest Avas manifested by the ladies piesent. Miss Berg, who is demonstrator to the Wellington Gas Company, prepared the folloAving dishes: Mutton pies, sponge sandAAueh, baked roly-poly, aud milk rolls, and fully demonstrated the simplicity of cooking by gas. The demonstrator gave much valuable inforillation, and drew particular attention to a common error Avith beginners, Avho did not see that the oven Avas"sufficiently heated before starting to - cook, the result being that scones and cakes A\ere not evenly cooked, being bflrned «‘t the bottom and not sufficiently browned on top. The Hawera. Gas Co., Avho have arranged for the series of demonstrations, are anxious that all ladies interested in cooking should at--L is not necessary that they snail be themselves users of gas as a cooking medium.- Miss Berg possesses a great deal of information that is useful to anyone Avho cooks, regularly or occasionally. She Avill be glad to ans Aver any questions, Avhether put orally or in Avriting. Reference to the advertisement in this issue will acquaint the ladies of the programmes for this evening and to-morroAV .afternoon.. Prior to entering upon the Avork of demonstrating, Miss Dferg was formally introduced to the company assembled by Mr M. F. Purser, a director of the HaAvera Gas Co.
