EXTENSION AT KAPONGA

Advice was received vesterday by the postmaster at Kaponga (Mr. W. H. L. Roberts) that, the Department had completed arrangements for the addition to the istaff required to extend the hours of telephone exchange attendance and give a week-day service from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. The extended service commence as from to-morrow (Thursday). The improvement has for some time past been the subject of negotiations between the Department and the Kaponga, Chamber of Commerce, with which to-dav Mr. Rjoberts has co-opera-led. Together with the Chamber of Commerce officials, Mr. Roberts is to he congratulated on the successful conclusion to their efforts, which will he greatly appreciated throughout the district.
