DISMISSAL OF TRAINER.
APPEAL TO HIS MAJESTY
LONDON, Nov. 9. • 0 eo P le newspaper asserts that Major I eatherstonhaugli, the manager ot the King’s stable, virtually dismissed Richard Mansli, intimating that his resignation would be willingly accepted. Major Featlierstonhaugh also manages the horses owned 'by Lord Lasses, who recently has shown an interest in the King’s horses, suggesting varous improvements at Sandringham. Marsh resents his dismissal, and says he has been increasingly unhappy, especially in view of the recent failures ot the King’s horses, of which, many judges point out, none of the 28 in training is worthy to carry the Royal colours, while the Sandringham mares are unable to produce good stayers. The Lasc-elles horses are said to be poor this season. It is contended by Marsh that he should not he blamed for the failure of the Royal stud, and he intends to appeal to the King to hear his side of the case. Major Featherstonhaugh has approached Sam Darling. Walter ■Earl, and Boyd Rochfort, who have all refused the post of King’s trainer. ALLEGATION'S DENIED. “NOT FORCED TO RESIGN.” LONDON, Nov. 10. Mr. Richard Marsh, who has resigned his position as trainer for the King, which lie had held for many years, characterises as “outrageous” the allegation bv the newspaper, the People, flmt he had lately become increasingly unhappy because of the failure of the Kiiii" s horses, which judges did not con-Klp" worth training. Marsh states that it is untrue that be was practically forced, to resign by Major Featherstonhaugh, manager of the King’s stable.
