WIRELESS INSTALLATIONS.

ON NORTHERN COMPANY VESSELS. '(BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, t Nov. 26. There 'has been much controversy, oi late concerning the. advisability of fitting coastal vessels with wireless, the question having been given considerable publicity at the time of the loss of the Richardson steamer Ripple. If , was recently decided by the Northern Steamship Co. to equip certain of their vessels whose runs take them some distance from the coastline with radio sets, and it is understood that the work will be carried out early next month. The steamers to be fitted are the Manaia, Rarawa, Matangi, Ngapuhi and Clansman. The aerials on the Manaia were temporarily erected to-day, but the sets will not be installed until next week.
