AT THE OTAGO SHOW. (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. DUNEDIN, Nov. 27. Beautiful weather was experienced to-day for people’s day a£ the show, and there was a very large attendance. An unfortunate accident occurred in the rescue race, when two horses collided. Neither rider was seriously hurt, though both were badly shaken, and the horses injured their shoulders. Two horsemen were returning after placing the “dummies” in position. They galloped down the racing track instead of on the outside, and the two other contestants galloped up the field. Before they could get clear the horses Lollis and Chummy crashed, falling heavily and throwing their riders clear. Ferguson, on .Lollis, suffered an injury to his knee, and Merry, the other rider, was merely shaken. The race was abandoned. \ Results: — New Zealand leaping championship.—. "Miss D. Mowat’s Spanker 1, R. Brunton’s Sunbeam 2, ‘Miss D. Mowat’s Tahuna 3. High Jump.—Geo. Roberts’ Puzzle (R. Courts) 6ft. 3-J-in., 1; E. J. Hocherty’s Happy Jack, 6ft. 2iin., 2; Miss D. Mowat’s Elaine, sft. llin., 3. The height cleared by Puzzle is a record for the Otago Show.
