LEGION OF FRONTIERSMEN.
By advertisement in another column a meeting''of members and intending members of the local troop of the Legion of Frontiersmen is called for to-morrow night. A certain amount of doubt exists as to who is eligible for membership. Although war service is a -great advantage, it is not absolutely a necessary qualification. Even if a'man has not seen active service, provided lie has some of the other qualifications he is eligible. Loyalty, of course, comes -jfirst; then a man must be a man among men; he must be used to the open life, either on land or sea. Age is no barrier, the minimum is 25, the maximunr, well, “the sky’s the limit,” provided a man is fit and keen. The Legion wants members, but it will not receive with open aivms all and sundry. A dozen keen, enthusiastic men chosen carefully are better than 50 wlio might join haphazard because it is to them a new thing. A man who wears the badge is proud of wearing it. The Legion welcomes only those who will likewise be proud to belong to the great brotherhood of the Empire.
