PRINCE PALATINE. ‘ BURNED TO DEATH. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT LEXINGTON (Kentucky), Oct. 14. Prince Palatine, the famous £50,000 stallion belonging to MrE. T. Simms, was burned to l death last night, when his stable caught fire.—Reuter. (Prince Palatine, a son of King Edward’s horse was 16 years old. He won the St. Leger in 1911, the Eclipse Stakes, Doncaster Cup. and Jockey Club Stakes in 1912, and the Ascot Gold Cup in 1912 and 1913. Mr J. B. Joel bought the horse for £40,000 in 1913, and sold him to the Due de Castries, a Normandy breeder, in 1917 fotr £26,250. Mr Simms, it is said, paid £50,000 for Prince Palatine in 1920.)
