Albert Barber, was committed for trial. The police evidence showed that the place had been ransacked not for valuables, but for information of the whereabouts of Barber’s wife, who left him. FLIGHT TO NORTH POLE. CHRISTIANIA, Nov. 25. It is stated that Dr. Nansen intends, next summer to participate in an attempt to reach the North Pole by airship. Commander Bums is leading and organising the expedition. A LIVE BOMB. WOMAN’S STRANGE PARCEL. LONDON, Nov. 25. An ex-service attendant at Daly’s Theatre made an amazing discovery. A well-dressed woman aged about 40, on entering the gallery, left a large d a reel in. his charge during the performance. * The man became suspicious of the parcel’s unusual weight. He opened it and found it contained a live stink gas bomb, as used in France during the war. The noli re were called in and removed the bcmb safely, but the ■woman had disappeared.
