MONUMENT TO PRIEST. (BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION. PAHIATUA, Nov. % The unveiling of a handsome monument erected in the local cemetery to the memory of the late Dean; Thomas McKenna, who was for many years parish priest at Pahiatua, took place to-day, the ceremony being performed by Father Clancy, of Napier. There was a assemblage from various parts pf the district and neighbouring towns, many visiting clergy also Being present. Prior to the ceremony a Requiem Mass wrs held at St. Brigid’s Church, the celebrant being Monsighor McKenna (Masterton), brother of the late dean. Dean Thomas McKenna died at New Plymouth last year shortly after his appointment as parish priest at St. Joseph’s.
