PERSONAL ITEMS.

Mr. Frank O’Connor, a well-known inspector in the Railway department, who was formerly at Hawera, is paying >a short visit to South Taranaki. Mr. E. M. Smith, who for the last eleven years, has been connected with the Hawera staff of the Loan and Mercantile Agency Company Limited, latterly holding the position of stock agent and junior auctioneer, has received notice of his appointment in charge of the Taihape district. This means a substantional promotion to Mr. Smith, on which his friends will be pleased to congratulate him. The position vacated by Mr. Smith will be taken by Mr. H. F. AVooffindin, from the Masterton branch.
