Ail amusing incident that illustrates how* readily one will agree to a principle in theory and then transgress it in practice occurred when the council of the Onehunga Cham her of Commerce was completing the arrangements for the carnival, to impress upon residents the desirability and advantages of shopping in the borough (says the New Zealand Herald). It was mentioned that some small article was required, and one member volunteered to get it, “as he would be going to town in the morning.” Another quietly interjected: “Shop in your own town.” The first speaker subsided.
