MEAT MARKET. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London house under date 21st instant: New Zealand frozen meat: Lamb, 13£d per lb (average); mutton, wether and maiden ewe, light 9d per lb, heavy 8-Rl; ewe, light 7gd, heavy 7d. Market for New Zealand lamb is firmer. ‘ Mutton. —New Zealand prime crossbred mutton,- Canterbury heavy and Ught not quoted. North Island heavy bd light 8;ld. Demand for New Zealand mutton is good, owing to cold ueather. Market is very firm and tending upwards. “Beef.—New Zealand prime ox beef binds 5‘ d fores 43d. Active demand tor New Zealand beef. Market is firm, owing to small arrivals expected. “Lamb (Australian frozen meat). — Good average qualitv crossbred, heavy not quoted, light 12fd. Active demand for Australian lamb. Australian mutton is not quoted.”
