ATHLETICS.

THURSDAY’S MEETING,

GOOD FORM BY SCHOOL

Tlie large crowd at the sports meeting on Thursday evening in the Show Grounds were, treated to a very interesting display of athletic events and thoroughly enjoyed the evening’s gathering. The arrangements were a distinct credit to all concerned in the arrangements.

The Technical High School boys are entitled to much commendation for their success in the various events, and they were given a great reception from the onlookers. They did very well indeed, and in the reiay race, 440 yards, when pitted against the Hawera and visiting athletic club teams, they scored a well deserved victory. Their four boys were O’Dea, Owen, Nicholas and Skjellerup, and each, starting from scratch, more than held his own. Their changing over was remarkably well done and worked like a machine. The 220 yards race, too, was one of the events of the evening.
