We wish to direct the attention of readers to. a letter appearing in this issue, protesting, and rightly so, against the despicable actions of some person or persons who pilfer the choicest blooms from the Memorial Arch. The great Arch stands in everlasting and sacred remembrance of those who gave all that they had that we should, live, in liberty, and that excellent organisation, the Women’s National- Reserve, which did such splendid work during the war/period and in helping in a most creditable manner in the epidemic and troublesome years following, "has undertaken to place flowers upon the Arch. In the Reserve are many relatives and friends of men who made the supreme sacrifice, and to them the placing of flowers upon the Arch has a special significance . and sacredness. .The ivretehed lack of thought and meanness of spirit of the person or persons in removing the sacred symbols of love and affection for the dead are astounding, and such despicable vandalism deserves to be punished with the utmost severity provided by lawk We sincerely hope that the offender or offenders, if the desecration continues, will he caught and taught a much needed lesson.
